So I'm rebuilding and setting up my 66 vintage Muncie 4 speed shifter mechanism.
All the parts have been cleaned, zinc etched, and are just lightly oiled, polished smooth on the contact surfaces. Working now to shim it all in close, and align it to neutral.
What lube would you use on it in the end? Certainly not any kind of common dirt attracting grease?

What about the door hinge lube? I have a metal tube of Door-Eeze that Ive had forever. The stuff is half way between grease & bees wax. Doesnt seem to load up with dust & dirt and it does lubricate. It might be a little stiff when cold, but a thin layer should be OK.
"Super Lube" is my latest go-to lube. I was rebuilding some ratchets, and was curious what lube to use. Various websites recommended it, so I picked some up (I was able to order it at Home Depot for about $12, it took 2-3 days to come in). I think it'll work well in your shifter.
