69 GTO U-joints

Had anyone had an issue with finding the correct size u-jojnt? I have a 69 Gto convertible w/4 speed Muncie. It was originally an automatic. I ordered a pair of u joints, they were too big. New joints had 1.125" cups, mine are 1.060". I checked other 69 pontiac models and found the firebird had the size I needed, so I went with that. I'm wondering if Canadian model GTO's have the smaller u-joints, or if I just have the wrong parts on my car?

When I had a 1969 Grand Prix with a 428  turbo 400 there were 2 different u joints in the parts book for an automatic.  The difference was which differential was in the car. The one I had was the smaller diff non posi, there was a heavy duty diff offered that used a different part number.  I was surprised the car was ordered non posi with the smaller weaker diff.but a 428 engine.

All 69 GTO's were built in the US and other than a bit stronger ant-freeze mixture there were no changes made for cars bound for Canada. I suspect the issue may be that on 69 A, F & G bodies the TH400 used a bigger yoke than all the other transmissions (3 and 4 speed manual, powerglide, TH350).
