Beaumont Cheetah?

I sent this one to 68sd to add to the registry almost a week ago as bait and we were sure some was going to find it but no one commented on it!! This is the one I knew of and these are the pics of it..........
As I also stated to 68sd, the original engine is popped but he still has it. There is a 454ci in it now.
I removed my later post of the cowl tag and inserted it here with the rest............

HAZ396 mentioned that his car has shoulder belts.  Is it just me or does this one look like it has shoulder belts too.  (hanging in the drivers side in pics)?????

Is that yet another green 69 beaumont up on sawhorses in the background?
There must be at least 4-5 poncho members with green 68-69s up on blocks
Hilarious!

It's great to see these cars posted. I was never out west back in the day, but I do remember the Black Panther Camaro's from Gorrie. I met the owner of the one in Sault Ste.Marie and he spent an hour showing me the car. He bought it new, still very nice. The 427 Panther I knew well as a kid living in Nova Scotia. A friend of a friend had it after it spent a few years on the Drag circuit. It was on about it's 10th engine, but was still a knockout car.

Yep, this one has the shoulder belts as well. As for details, the original guy who bought it, either rolled it or was in an accident early in its life, for starters!!! He has since passed away and it is now his brothers.... He is not a car person and since it was his brothers and he has passed away..... So, it sits!!! As you can see it was last licensed in '79 and as we all know, back then it was just a car and they probably didn't realize how rare is really is! The nephew popped the 396 which they kept and a 454 sits in it's place.

That is about all I know till I research a little more... And as for the one in the background on legs, it is a Malibu,

5th week May      13637       8cyl         59   (756 black)    Sask.                 link
1969                 Malibu hrdtp            Frost green                  spotted by 67poncho

And shame on you Beaumont guys for not checking your registry from time to time!  This car has been there since Monday the 4th!!! (lol)

Oct.27th 1966   73617 A51           396ci L34 M20   J  (763 Black bucket)    link
#8325xx  Sports Deluxe hrdtp  Conroy Cheetah    Verde green  T27  Black top

                                                                    Saskatchewan  spotted by 67poncho

By far the coolest find yet

Wow, finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As stated, so, so, so cool to see that........

It is such a shame to see that car sitting like that.

That car is the Canadian equivalent of a Yenko Camaro.

What are the chances the owner would let you pop the rear seat bottom in seach of the line tag?  Or better yet whos in on getting the GM docs.  you must have the serial # 67poncho.

If 67poncho has the #, he could phone GM, i would pay to see the docs.  You could blank out the serial # for privacy and then show us
What a tremendous part of GM history in canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would just love to see the option list alone.  that would be interesting
and the selling dealer.  Wonder if it states Conroy pontiac.  Or COPO, or Zone Office or ?   wow, would that be neet to see!

I'm practically falling off my chairbiggrin

I think a number of us would chip in for documents. Put me on the list.

I can't pick you up if you fall off the chair because I'm on the floor too. This is so neat!

OK, tell you what guys.....I have absolutely no problems in calling in the VIN or removing the rear seat to check for the line tab/build sheet! As 68sd will confirm, I have spent a lot of time to take pics for all the registrys and this little endevor is just another reason to take my camera to snap more pictures!!! (lol)
BUT, the "babysitter" of this car will have to approve of this and since I informed HIM of the site and what I was doing when I first approached him to take pics of the Cheetah, he will have to agree to it first!
I will definately keep you informed...........................

At first i wondered if they just ordered the hood and put it on at the dealership, but then they would have to paint it to match the car, wonder if it was a COPO thing, maybe they could order it special, would GM oshawa have those hoods at that time?
i guess they would on the Chevelles going down the line?

I'm thinking it came with it-but it throws us off, yes GM did have BB hoods on U.S. cars Super Sport 396 138 v.i.n.'s  but again the first half of our year seen 136 v.i.n. Malibu SS with the L34 option I believe-they would have a flat hood ????
