Big block block heater?
(Preview)
Option K05, the block heater, isn't shown in the assembly manual. Does anyone know authoritatively which frost plug it should go in?

Shipped my dash and console off to Just Dashes...
(Preview)
Definition of mixed emotions? I was so happy that FedEx, at my third location attempt, was willing to pack and ship my dashboard and console. Then I got the email with the $386 bill! That's a lot of money to go from WA to CA. But this is the life we chose, I guess. Here's a blue one from their website: htt...

Knob repro for 68 and early 69 seat belt retractors
(Preview)
My early '69 car has a cinch button on the seat belt retractor, whereas my later 69 car does not. So, it appears, sometime during 69 they dropped the cinch feature from the retractable belts. I'm missing a knob, and managed to find the repro again after misplacing it, so am posting it here for when I inev...

Speed Warning (pic)
(Preview)
I was looking through my parts cupboard for a regular old speedo face, which I never did find. Extra lights? You bet. Speed warning? Sure. Gauges? We got 'em. Plain base speedo? Nope! Here's the speed warning, in case you've never seen one!

N10 vs L36 dual exhaust (1969)
(Preview)
Thought I'd bring up some trivia I found as I was researching my exhaust system. Looks like if you got dual exhaust, you got resonators. Here's the complete set of parts for 1969 under "Resonator and pipe". And since there was no resonator option, I'm guessing resonators came with dual exhaust. A...

1969 Chalk/Inspection marks?
(Preview)
This will be the second 1969 Pontiac I've restored, but neither was virgin enough to carry it's original chalk marks. My black car had been repainted before, the red convertible is already stripped. If anyone has taken apart survivors and noted/photographed any chalk marks, particularly under...

Has anyone EVER seen a 396 or 427 valve cover decal?
(

)
(Preview)
So in the assembly manual, for 1969 it shows that you should have a 427 decal (part number 3923765) over TOP over the "Tonawanda Job #1 Team" sticker. I've seen lots of those, and even on an original engine car, never seen the coverup sticker. Has anyone?

Kick panels in convertibles?
(Preview)
My kick panels are unusable, as in not restorable, need another-pair-rough. I wonder if that's from being outside? My Laurentian still has "like new" panels but it's been garaged most of its life. Doesn't look like anyone reproduces them, so I think I'll be buyimg a set (no doubt in green!) and dyi...

A very close center cap for Canadian rally wheels
(Preview)
I found these at: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/upd-c6704 They're not perfect, but with a little black paint they'd be fairly convincing as a standin for our correct rally caps!

1969 F41 Panhard rod bushings
(Preview)
Can anyone find any documentation (including the part number in the catalog) for the bushings on both ends of the panhard bar? Ideally with and without F41? I'm having a heck of a time figuring out authoritatively what it should have. I can measure and reorder what it came with, but have no confirm...

Big block valve covers - restore or replace?
(Preview)
The big block valve cover on this car is weird - it's leaned over a little to clear the brake booster, but not as much as a Corvette. But then it's got some other little weird outdent feature. I'll post some pics - if anyone can find a repop set of these, please let me know, but they look like they might be sp...

Oshawa engine stamping

(Preview)
Anyone else have a stamping from Oshawa? I'd like to see how the gangs are arranged in the sequence number. These are a little squirelly but that could just be the case with the Oshawa plant since I don't think the big blocks were exactly flying off the shelves in Canada at the time...

Stock shocks - and what about F41?
(Preview)
Normally on my restored cars I'll take a KYG gas-adjust and use paint and stickers to make it look somewhat appropriate. I might do that again, or I might put the right spiral shocks on it. I remember being about 8 and helping my Dad change read shocks (he thought the fronts would be tough, which is fun...

Canadian Rally Wheel Centercap
(Preview)
I popped the center medallion off one of my original rally caps, only to find that it has the SAME casting and part numbers as a 1967 Chevrolet cap, but it's clearly different. My only guess at this point is that 3901715 is not the Chevy disc medallion OR the Canadian Pontiac medallion but is actually th...

Are basic (non-deluxe) belts all black, or color keyed?
(Preview)
Mine are black but the interior is red. Would they be original or did someone toss the original reds and replace them with black? They're date coded correctly for my car, for what that's worth, and it's a late car. Maybe then ran out of red? I sure prefer my Deluxe belts in my coupe! -- Edited by davepl...

Fuel tank - how to restore?
(Preview)
There's abundant info on how to restore the inside of a fuel tank, and the various seal coatings available and so on, but I'm curious about the outside. How does one get it back to bare "galvanized" appearance? Unless there are good reproductions available (not that I know of, only for the wagon), loo...

I laid out the entire exploded car across 2-3 stall today to see what I have. I was impressed with myself in that I know what every part is from sight except the following. I'm hoping they are convertible-specific or maybe not original to the car! If anyone can ID them, please let me know. The bracket...
