Wanting to restore my 327 distributor. Is there much I should know?
(Preview)
I'm wanting to restore my 67 327 Distributor. It has pretty low miles on it, and it's converted over to the basic Pertronix breakerless system. Is there much I can do to it (or need to do?)? I remember a post on this a ways back, but can't seem to find it. Also, should I do a new dist. gear owing to the purchase...

I was thinking of rebuilding My TH400 in my 65 Parisienne. As I know this is not the factory trans so I was wondering if I should put in something with overdrive like a 700R4. What seems to be the popular transmission choice if not original

1967 327 Power steering bracket...help!
(Preview)
Guys, Can you help me figure out what I need to complete the power steering bracket setup on my 67 327? In mocking it up before paint, I think I have the correct 67 pump cradle bracket and pump. The bracket that goes across from the motor mount boss to manifold is a maybe, but it appears I've misplaced the re...

427 Conversion
(Preview)
I suspect there are many others on here who love searching out parts for their old cars when they do conversions, upgrades, whatever. I am almost done my 427 conversion and am making an effort to keep it looking very "1966" as much as possible, but I'm still on a budget (part time worker, you know....) An...

Would someone have a dipstick and tube that they know is from a 68-70 B body 396 427 or 454? I would like to get some dimensions off the stick and tube. I suspect I don't have the right pieces for the oil pan I have on my car which is from those years. Thanks!

Clutch fork boot still available from GM
(Preview)
When you get tired of me posting up about stuff you can still get new from GM, either just tell me, or ignore these posts! When I was working on my engine swap I noticed my clutch fork boot was basically junk, full of cracks. Low and behold, a part number changeup later, I had a current number, ordered the bo...

LUK Clutch Review

So for my upcoming swap I decided on a LUK clutch. I have always heard good things about them but recently someone on here had a bad experience with one. However, I decided to go with a LUK in spite of that because the dealership I work at buys a lot of jobber parts from a local supplier. We buy so much there th...

Rear diff gear ratio question
(Preview)
I have a 65 Parisienne rag top with a 12 bolt rear end. I did a rough spin the tire and count the drive shaft revolution and came up with 2 possibilities being a 3.08 or a 3.23 ratio.
I thought the 3.23 was the more accurate but after some reading was not sure if this was an original option (maybe it was change...

I was ordering parts for my engine swap today and this came to mind. If this has been covered here in the past, forgive me. Carb base heat cross over passage ways

Has anyone here ever plugged off the Carb base heat crossover passage ways on a '68 327 with 4 barrel manifold. The '68 has exhaust running right under the front of the carb. And that gasket can burn out making like a permanent open EGR. If someone has done it, what was used to plug the holes? Pound in plugs...

Cleaning my 327 cast iron intake. I'd like to take the heat shield on the bottom off. I think to clean it properly it needs to come off. Can it be removed...then put back on? How is it even fastened? I haven't tried prying at it yet for fear of damaging it.

Pilot Bushing Removal
(Preview)
This week I needed to remove the pilot bushing from my crank. I've always used the old method of filling the back of the crank as well as the pilot bushing with grease, then tapping in an old transmission input shaft. This forces the bushing out of the crank using hydraulics, the grease does the work for y...
