SBC Main seal question,
(Preview)
Question; Can one change a SBC 2 piece seal with the engine in place, in a 65 B Body? I have just detected a small drip in the 65. Don't think its the pan. If it stays this small I'll not worry too much. Second, Will this wee drip eventually foul my clutch?

12 bolt ratios. Availability question.
(Preview)
Was there ever such a thing as a 3.23 ring and pinion for a 8.875" 12 bolt? The reason I ask, is in my thinking, it would be a great on road compromise ratio for a big car with a M20. And I'll be building a 4 leg 12 bolt for my 65 and already have an good open 3.08 carrier. My current 10 bolt has a 3.36 since it was a s...

Engine pulled and heads rebuilt on Pontiac after 50 years
(Preview)
I decided after having some issues with the plugs fouling in cylinders 5,8 and a bit of a choppy idle i would have the heads pulled as the engine has never been touched. Compression was tested and strong at 175 and 180 across all cylinders and the engine was running pretty well overall, I was pretty optim...

Lost the diff breather
(Preview)
the diff breather for the diff I am putting in, seems to have come out and disappeared, never to be seen again. Any suggestions on what I could use? I could always use the one out of the diff which is in the car at the moment, but prefer not to. Cheers all!

Aluminum Rad...lesson learned.
(Preview)
Here's an important tip for those choosing to use an aluminum rad for running up an engine on a stand. Use coolant, Never straight water. I used straight water. Drained it after testing the engine, but left it on the test stand hoses still connected. The residual water left in the bottom tank caused pin...

Diff sizes aussie full size
(Preview)
very curious why my vert has 3.07 ratio diff as apposed to what is in all aussie built b bodies which is 3.55. Maybe because it was assembled in canada? Anywho, explains why it has terrible launch and is a bit uninspiring planting the boot even though it has the big block But is fantastic for a long high spe...

Can a cooling fan be too close to a radiator?
(Preview)
Ready to move into finishing the cooling on the 65. I had mocked up the aluminum rad on the large 67 spacer, and the fan sits really close to the rad. Close in like just a little bit better than 1/4" Might be able to gain a little more when everything gets bolted in. Still have to add tabs to the spacer to accom...

1965 B body tailpipe exit question. Opinion.
(Preview)
On a 65 CP 327 300HP V8, where and how would the tips exit if they extended all the way to the back? Would they look and be positioned similar to the 65 Impala seen below, less resonators? The pipes I have kind of exit a little way back from the WW opening. Stealthy. It might grow on me leaving them this way (o...

Clutch question?
(Preview)
Hi all, I have a 1965 standard (3 on the tree) I have a clutch question. When I start out in the morning the clutch engages quite nicely but as things heat up it tends to shutter going into gear. The whole car vibrates quite intensely. When I increase the RPM it overcomes this but its not really what I want to...
